The maths, done for you

Points per 100 sq yd computed live as you log, with PASS or FAIL against the buyer you picked at intake.

Hands stay on the fabric

Say "hole, three points, forty-two" where the tablet's speech recognition supports your language. Glove-sized buttons always work, even when the floor is too loud.

Money back from the mill

A failed roll drafts a debit note with the roll map, photos and points as proof. Nothing gets quietly written off.

What Fabric Inspection Software adds

Five things paper, Excel and enterprise QC tools do not give a mill

Visual roll map

Every defect is plotted along the roll length (0–120 yd), coloured by points. The map goes into the buyer report and onto the cutting table.

Why it matters: Cutters avoid bad zones and buyers trust what they can see. Vision machines produce maps; paper sheets do not, and we did not find roll maps in the generic forms apps we reviewed.

Voice logging in Tamil, Hindi and English

The inspector keeps both hands on the fabric and says "slub, moonu point, eighty-six". Fabric Inspection Software logs Slub · 3 pts · 86 yd and shows it on the confirmation bar. Voice uses the tablet browser's speech recognition (Chrome on Android), so Tamil and Hindi availability and accuracy depend on the device, and recognition usually needs a network connection.

Why it matters: Faster inspection and fewer missed entries where the device recognises the inspector's language. Where it does not, the tap buttons and a typed phrase box do the same job.

Buyer standards library

Each buyer's limits (for example ≤ 28 points for one, ≤ 40 for another), hole rule and report options are stored once. Pick the buyer at intake and pass/fail plus the report follow automatically.

Why it matters: No more manual checking against buyer manuals. Brand-side tools are usually set up around one brand's standard; a mill or exporter may ship to twenty buyers.

Auto debit note to the mill

Failed rolls automatically generate a claim or debit note to the supplying mill with the roll map, photos, points and invoice reference as proof.

Why it matters: Recovers money that today is quietly written off because nobody has the evidence or the time to raise a claim.

Offline-first on budget Android

Defect taps, undo and "finish roll" keep working with no network: they queue on the device and sync later. Open each roll once while online so the screen is cached; photos wait for the network, and voice recognition usually needs one. Runs on ₹10–12k tablets with glove-sized targets.

Why it matters: Fits real factory floors and budgets. Many enterprise QC tools assume iPads and steady Wi-Fi; a typical Tirupur dyeing unit has neither.

Four steps, in the order the floor actually works

1

Register the roll

PO, lot, shade, mill, length, width and GSM are entered once; the roll's printed QR label reopens the record at the frame.

2

Tap or speak defects

Big 1–4 point buttons and defect chips, or voice where the device supports it. Photo per defect.

3

Auto pass/fail

Points per 100 sq yd update live and are judged against each buyer's own limit and format.

4

Report + claim

Print-ready buyer report with roll map (save as PDF), and a debit note draft to the mill for every failed roll.

Three plans, priced in rupees

Unlimited rolls on every plan. No per-roll fees, no setup fee. Cancel monthly. One rejected shipment usually costs more than a year of the Unit plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is fabric inspection software?

Fabric inspection software records defects found while a fabric roll is inspected, scores them (usually with the ASTM D5430 4-point system), judges the roll against a buyer limit and produces the report. Fabric Inspection Software does this on an Android tablet, with Tamil, Hindi or English labels and offline tap logging, for Indian mills and exporters. Inspectors still find the defects; the software scores, records and reports them.

Does it detect defects automatically from camera images?

No. Fabric Inspection Software does not detect defects from camera images and has no AI defect detection. Inspectors find each defect on the frame and log it by tap or by voice; the tablet camera is used only to attach a photo as evidence. Automated camera inspection is a different category: vision systems such as Uster Fabriq Vision or Smartex are mounted on the inspection machine.

What is the 4-point fabric inspection system?

The 4-point system is a grading method (ASTM D5430) where each defect earns 1 to 4 penalty points by its length, capped at 4 per defect and per linear yard. Points are normalised to 100 square yards so rolls of any size compare fairly against a buyer limit such as 40 points.

How does Fabric Inspection Software calculate points per 100 sq yd?

It uses total points × 3600 ÷ (length in yards × width in inches). Example: 18 points on a 120 yd × 58 in roll gives 9.3 points per 100 sq yd. Fabric Inspection Software computes this live after every defect and stamps PASS or FAIL against the selected buyer's limit.

Does the fabric inspection app work without internet?

Mostly, yes. In Fabric Inspection Software, defect taps, undo and "finish roll" are saved on the tablet and sync when Wi-Fi or mobile data returns; the header shows how many entries are queued. Three limits: open each roll once while online so its screen is cached, photos upload only when the network is back (keep the tab open), and voice recognition usually needs a connection.

Which devices do I need for fabric inspection?

Any Android tablet or phone running Android 9 or newer with Chrome. Fabric Inspection Software is a web app you add to the home screen, not a Play Store app, and runs well on ₹10,000–12,000 tablets with a rugged case. QR labels print through the Android print dialog to any printer the tablet can reach. Dashboards and reports open in any web browser.

Does it support Tamil and Hindi?

Partly, and it depends on the device. The Fabric Inspection Software inspection screen and defect master carry Tamil, Hindi and English labels; office screens are in English. Voice logging uses the browser's speech recognition, so Tamil and Hindi work only where the tablet supports them. Recognised phrases such as "slub, moonu point, eighty-six" are logged as Slub · 3 points · 86 yards and shown for confirmation; "undo" removes an entry.

Can I store different buyer limits and report formats?

Yes. The Exporter plan includes a buyer standards library: each buyer's point limit, hole rule, unit (sq yd or sq m) and report options. Pick the buyer at roll intake and Fabric Inspection Software applies the right pass/fail and report. The Unit plan stores one buyer standard.

What is in a fabric inspection report from the app?

Each report, per roll, lot or PO, holds roll details, a defect table with photos, a visual roll map, points per 100 sq yd, the buyer limit and verdict, shade, GSM and shrinkage results, the inspector's name and signature lines. You print it or save it as PDF from the browser. Fabric Inspection Software also exports CSV and offers a REST API on the Exporter plan.

Can I see a real inspection report before booking a demo?

Yes. The buyer reports page links a live roll report and a lot summary from our demo workspace, each labelled sample data, plus a printable version of each. They are generated by the app itself from sample rolls, so the layout, roll map and 4-point maths are exactly what a buyer would receive.

How does the debit note to the mill work?

When a roll fails, Fabric Inspection Software drafts a claim with the roll ID, mill invoice reference, failed points, photos and roll map. The QC head adds the deduction value and shares a mill-facing evidence link; sending by email or WhatsApp works once your messaging channel is connected. A claim register tracks each note as draft, sent, accepted, disputed or settled.

How much does fabric inspection software cost in India?

Fabric Inspection Software costs ₹4,999 a month on the Unit plan (5 inspectors, unlimited rolls) and ₹14,999 on the Exporter plan (20 inspectors, 3 units, buyer library, debit notes). Group pricing for buying houses is custom. GST is extra and there are no per-roll or setup fees.
